Program Description

The Higher Level Skills Program is a key initiative under the Queensland Government’s five-year training reform action plan. The Higher Level Skills program provides eligible individuals with access to a subsidised training place in selected Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) certificate IV level and above qualifications or priority skill sets, with a pre-approved registered training organisation (RTO) of their choice.

*Student will no longer be eligible for a government-subsidised training place under a program once they complete the qualification level targeted through the program.

Entry requirements
  • Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident
  • 18 years of age or over
  • live in QLD and have left school
  • NOT have a Certificate IV or higher-level qualification
  • NOT currently enrolled in Certificate IV or higher-level qualification
  • Have an Australian year 12 Certificate or successfully completed FE LLN test
What will I gain from this program?

The program provides eligible individuals with access to one subsidised training place in priority certificate IV level and above qualifications or priority skill sets.

** Student must be an existing worker in the tourism and hospitality industry and must already hold a trade qualification (Certificate III) in the tourism and hospitality industry

Do you have your USI yet?

All students of vocational and educational training are required by the Australian Government to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).

If you do not have a USI, we cannot issue your Certificate, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Statement of Attainment or Transcript. A USI also gives you easy online access to your enrolment and results information.
